Collaborative artists KIAM (KIel and AManda Wilson-Ciocci) studied and received their BFA in Studio Art from the University of Guelph in 2010.  After working separately for years but always commenting on each others work, it seemed a natural progression to complete a collaborative painting. Using thick layers of acrylic paint, gel mediums, photographs and washes, the result is a painting with two perspectives on one panel.

"During our training we always worked separately but it was shortly after the birth of our first son in 2010 that we completed our first collaborative painting and continue to make collaborative mixed media paintings as KIAM. When you think of a time or place in your memory, you remember movement, colour, sound, texture; the sensual elements of an experience. Using these elements, we have brought our styles together to create work that focuses on collaboration, connection, slowing down and looking intensely at the world around us".
